Synopsis and Objectives Short Films, Big Ideas is a symposium on the art and commerce of short films, held annually in tandem with the Film Centre's Worldwide Short Film Festival. The Symposium provides a unique opportunity for filmmakers and industry representatives to meet and do business. Seminars and workshops are moderated by industry players, and cover the A-Z's of creating, producing, and marketing. The Symposium is attended by 1,000 Canadian and international filmmakers, including 300 accredited industry delegates from Canada, the United States, Europe and further afield. Tremendously popular seminars and workshops include "Pitchin'", "Fund Me", "Who Buys What", and "Mobile Movies". Sessions normally run 2 hours. The Symposium is augmented by a number of special events held throughout the Festival.
